Current number of internet users stands at over 3 billion+, it all however started in March 1989 when an english engineer and computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee wrote “Information Management: A Proposal”, which outlined his vision for what could become the World Wide Web.

Over the next 18 months he created many of the tools we still use on the web, including HTTP, HTML and the URL structure we’re all now familiar with. That was 30 years ago, and it’s hard to imagine what the web is going to be in another 30 years. [via]
