Building Bricks

The infographic was developed to illustrate and support the key findings of the Global Research Report, “Building Bricks: Exploring the Global Research Impact of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Korea” which focuses on the increase in research publications and patent fillings of the BRICK nations from 1992 through 2011 as compared to that of the G7 nations.

The surge is being driven largely by runaway growth in China and South Korea. This report utilized Thomson Reuters proprietary databases to track key innovation metrics—R&D spending, patent filings and academic research publications—in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Korea over a 10-year period.
