The Ola company and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) made a deal to provide comprehensive health insurance to over 20 lakh ola drivers. The MoU was signed between the Deputy CEO of AB-PMJAY and the National Health Authority (NHA) to provide needed medical assistance to drivers and their loved ones.
In the process, the two partners will work alongside to identify the drivers that fall under the PMJAY scheme and help them avail the healthcare benefits offered by the policy. This deal is said to be useful for thousands of eligible ola drivers and their families.
With PMJAY scheme, they will have easy access to a wide range of healthcare services for critical illnesses at any hospital. There are over 18073 empanelled private as well as government hospitals under the PMJAY scheme.
Who Benefits From This Partnership?
Like we mentioned earlier, this deal is highly beneficial for old drivers once they meet the Ayushman Bharat Yojana eligibility criteria. The partnership does not change the eligibility criteria for the scheme. To check whether you are eligible for the PMJAY scheme, follow these steps.
- Visit the PMJAY website
- Check on the ‘Am I Eligible’ option on the website
- Enter your name, contact number, and ration card number. You will receive an OTP (one-time-password)
- Submit the OTP generated
- Select your residential state
- After filling relevant data, click search. A list of names eligible under the PMJAY scheme will be displayed
- Look for your name in the given list
Once you know you are eligible for the application, move ahead to the Ayushman Bharat registration process. All the applicable drivers will be issued an ecard which can be used when available services under this scheme.
However, the Ola drivers are liable to pay INR 30 for obtaining the ecard. The NHA is said to work alongside the concerned Ola department for checking the eligibility and issuing of ecards. Moreover, they will also train the Ola staff to execute the same process independently.
One Year Of Ayushman Bharat Yojana
The AB-PMJAY scheme will soon complete a year and has provided INR 10.74 crore to the poor and vulnerable families across the country. Generally, the scheme offers health coverage of INR 5 lakhs per family on an annual basis.
It is committed to providing healthcare facilities to every Indian household. Partnering with the Ola company is a step ahead to achieve the same. On the other hand, Ola is determined to address the increasing medical needs of its drivers and wants them and their families a reliable and quality healthcare service.
AB-PMJAY scheme’s primary motive is to provide free medical facility to the poor and vulnerable households across the country. Ola’s partnership with the scheme only shows its support towards the Government of India’s Universal health care goals.
