Linkedin Identity

Linkedin is the worlds largest professional network with a simple mission: connecting the worlds professionals to make them more productive and successful. Linkedin was formed in the living room of co-founder Reid Hoffman in 2002, and officially launched on May 5th, 2003. The infographic, brought by Gigya, talks about the Linkedin identity and the growth in % of users on B2B sites who sign in with a Linkedin Identity. We can see from 2010 to 2011, there is a clear updward spike in the number of users having a Linkedin Identity (17% point growth). These users comprise of primarily from the Finance and High tech industry (totally, these two industries form 27.8% of Linkedin Identity holders). In terms of age group, user concentration ranges mainly between 25-34 years (32%) and 35-54 (41%). There is an almost equal split between men and women users. However, an interesting fact is that majority of Linkedin Identity holders come from company sizes of 1-1000 employees (30%), or over 10000 employees (41%). This is startling, and shows that Linkedin strength – companies just starting off wish to use already establish companies on Linkedin to create networks and get business done.
