JEE Advanced 2019: Exam Dates, Eligibility and Other Important Detail

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee in their latest notification, has announced the examination dates for JEE Advanced 2019. The examination is all set to be conducted on May 19, 2019. It is one of the essential examinations, the marks of which qualifies candidates for seeking admission to IIT.

The exam will be divided into two sections of Paper 1 and 2. The Paper 1 will comprises of three sections namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics which are in similar lines of JEE Mains. Both the papers comprise of objective type questions and MCQs. The examination will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours. Right answers will be given full marks whereas wrong answers will be rendered negative marking. Both the exam will be held in two separate sessions. While paper one will be conducted in the morning from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm, paper two will be conducted in the afternoon session from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.

Candidates who wish to attempt the JEE Advanced 2019 must have qualified their paper 1 of JEE Main 2019 and must be among the top 2, 24, 000. They must be born on or after October 1, 1994. Five years relaxation is given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PWD students wherein they must have been born on or October 1, 1989.

Students who have already attempted for JEE Advanced twice before will not be eligible for taking up the examination. The maximum number of attempts is only two times. Students who have qualified Class 12th or equivalent test for the first time in either 2018 or 2019 are eligible for the examination. The candidate should not have been admitted in an IIT course or availed a seat at IIT by reporting through reporting centre in the past.

To apply for the JEE Advanced 2019, it is necessary for the candidates to clear the JEE Main Paper 1. The application process for the examination will begin in the first week of May. Candidates can register for JEE Advanced 2019 by visiting the official website at jeeadv.ac.in.

Process for Registering for JEE Advanced 2019

Step 1: Candidates are supposed to register themselves on the official website online.

Step 2: After completing the registration process, they will have to log in on the website using their username and password.

Step 3: After logging in, the candidate must provide all the necessary data such as basic data, choice of city for examination and much more.

Step 4: Upload the scanned copies of all the required documents online.

Step 5: Payment of the registration fees must be done either through online or offline mode. Online mode comprises of net banking, credit card/ debit card. The fees for Indian Nationals (including PIO/ OCI) will be INR 1300 for GC/ SC/ ST/ PWD, whereas other candidates will be NR 2600. The fees for foreign candidates from SAARC countries will be USD 600 and those from Non-SAARC countries will be USD 300. However, the registration fees will be non-transferrable and non-refundable.

The Admit Card for JEE Advanced 2019 will be released by the authorities on the 2nd week of May, the official notification of which is yet to be released. It will comprise of all the details including examination center and schedule. Candidates will be able to download the Admit Card by logging in the official website of JEE. However, it is important for candidates to preserve the admit cards even after the examination is over which will be required for carrying out further processes.

JEE Advanced Result After the examination, the JEE Advanced 2019 will be released on the 1st week of June. The JEE Advanced 2019 Rank Cards and Rank List (AIR) will be published online separately. Once the Rank Cards are uploaded, later on, the All India Rank List will be uploaded category wise.
