Schools are adopting the STEM subjects in America; because these subjects let the students develop critical thinking and develop innovative thinking in a variety of fields. Science, technology, engineering, and math are the subjects they deal with in the learning curriculum. One of the biggest advantages of STEM subjects is that you will never be short of jobs after your school or colleges. Learning these subjects gives you guaranteed jobs in a variety of fields of your choice. Since, the scope of these subjects is pretty large, you will not have to take up specialization in any particular subject early on, as most of these subjects will lay foundations for most of the computer, math, science, and engineering based fields.
So, basically, if you wish to be a geek and do well in these fields then, STEM is for you. If you want to be anything else other than a geek, then you will have to drop these subjects and focus on those talents. STEM subjects are introduced right at the elementary level. So, basically, you could torture yourself with science and technology at elementary level instead of playing with toys and taking time to learn the basic subjects. Kudos to STEM, as much as it does give hope for getting the best jobs, you will pretty much be ripped from your years of yonder.
