Adidas is one of the ideal brands for consumers when it comes to running shoes. Adidas has launched their latest running shoe called ALPHAEDGE 4D. This is the first shoe to come with Adidas’s new 4D midsole.
4D midsole is Adidas’s latest innovation for runners be it a professional athlete or a regular gym user. Adidas claims that the new 4D midsole is designed to deliver the most intuitive energy return on running shoes. In addition, it also adds breathable cushioning for runner.
The benefits of these shoes is to control the energy you invest in your run to cut sharper, dig deeper, and accelerate beyond. By utilizing high speed motion capture and force data, these sneakers are able to track how athlete’s run and answer questions such as how do they land on their feet, how much pressure is exerted against the shoe, where do they need more support. Moreover, the data collected is translated to map out how stiff each part of the midsole needs to be, to provide cushioning or support where required. These sneakers are digitally test out the stiffness targets that were created- it’s like running a product test, only all simulated in a digital environment. Furthermore, based on the tests, these are fine-tuned lattice to make sure the final design is optimized to perform to the athlete’s needs. The final digital design of the midsole is sent to the printer to create the actual midsole.
A slight jerk to the original Alphaedge 4D model, this new profile features a Primeknit upper constructed with Forgefiber—a TPU-coated yarn to maximize durability and performance. Tonal plastic eyelets provide a reinforced lacing setup. Branding is kept to a minimum with a Three Stripes tab on the tongue and silver Adidas Sportswear logo on the lateral heel. The white and grey knit upper sits atop a 4D-printed midsole in its signature Ash Green colorway. The Adidas AlphaEdge 4D follows hot on the heels of the Consortium4D pack, for which the brand with the Three Stripes partnered with Sneakersnstuff, Invincible, KITH, Footpatrol and Daniel Arsham on a series of light-inspired 4D designs.
According to the Director of Future Design, Klaus Rolshoven, the concept for ALPHAEDGE 4D started out as a conceptual FUTURECRAFT innovation. This has not only allowed them to completely re-think our manufacturing processes but to create a data-driven experience that breaks new ground in performance capability and comfort. Give it a try guys!
